Definition of cookies

A cookie is a small text file that the website requests to store on the visitor's computer and that contains a certain amount of information and a certain time stamp. The web browser saves the information in a special place on your computer and returns the information in the cookie to the website visited with each request for pages/images from the website.

Two types of cookies

Act According to the Electronic Communications Act SFS 2003:389, which entered into force on 25 July 2003 and was amended on 1 July 2011, anyone who visits a website with cookies must be informed whether the website contains cookies or not (almost all websites use some form of cookies and /or services such as web statistics systems which in turn use cookies) and in that case the purpose of the use of cookies.
